Julian Silverstein, Founder of the Urban Builders Coalition, is a 17-year-old socially conscious teenager who wants to improve housing and enrich less desirable areas. Growing up in New York City and while traveling the world, Julian’s keen sensitivity to the housing crisis led him to create the Urban Builders Coalition.

With his desire to be a catalyst for change, Julian decided to merge his philanthropic spirit with his network of peers and grow his mission. By working with local and regional organizations, the Urban Builders Coalition strives to make a difference for their generation, and those that follow.

​

Julian’s hope is that everyone can have a roof over their head, and live on a street that they’re proud of.

Jesse Teramo began volunteering in New York City, working with organizations like City Harvest and the Fuller Center for Housing to address food insecurity, homelessness, and housing shortages. Through these experiences, he saw first hand the challenges faced by at-risk populations and was motivated to take action beyond traditional volunteer work.

To expand his impact, Jesse founded the Urban Builders Coalition, a grassroots initiative focused on building homes for the unhoused, revitalizing neighborhoods, and fostering inclusion within communities. By leveraging his network of peers and collaborating with local and regional organizations, he has worked to create sustainable housing solutions while engaging neighborhood residents.

As he prepares for college, Jesse is eager to further develop his knowledge and skills, using education as a platform to scale innovative housing solutions and drive meaningful change in communities. 

Founder Reese Teramo joined the Urban Builders Coalition with a heartfelt mission to support affordable housing missions and beautify neighborhoods in and around New York City. Combining her interests in architecture, preservation, and housing policy, she works alongside her peers and community members to revitalize public structures and green spaces, promote housing access, contribute to disaster relief efforts, and enhance urban spaces through fundraising and hands-on building projects. She believes in the power of our built environment to further economic mobility, vibrant culture, and collective well being.
